Ms. Cynthia Dwyer serves as a coordinator of the NIH Regional Seminars on Program Funding and Grants Administration for the Office of Extramural Research’s Division of Communications and Outreach. She is also responsible for managing outreach and training activities, including coordination and planning of OER webinars and assisting grantee institutions with presenter requests for special events.
Ms. Dwyer has worked for the NIH for 17 years, including 5 years as a Grants Management Specialist for the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Before accepting her current position, she also worked as an Assistant Grants Policy Officer in the NIH Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA). Ms. Dwyer obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Texas, her teaching degree from University of Missouri-St Louis, and Master of Arts in Elementary School Administration from Lindenwood University, St. Charles, MO. Prior to her career with the NIH, Ms. Dwyer taught grade school, wrote grants for the Missouri Public School System, and published a travel magazine.
