Assistant Extramural Inventions Policy Officer and Information Technology Analyst
John Salzman is Assistant Extramural Inventions Policy Officer and Information Technology Policy Analyst in the Division of Extramural Inventions and Technology Resources, Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA), Office of Extramural Research at the National Institutes of Health. He has worked in the areas of Invention and Patent Reporting compliance and implementing federal regulations using computer systems in OPERA since 1997. He conducts public sessions on regulatory compliance and furthers interagency coordination in these areas, and is responsible for managing the data and deriving reports documenting the progress of NIH in reaching its policy objectives for invention and patent reporting. He has previously worked in computer systems and network support at NIH. He has an M.P.M. degree in Public Management from the University of Maryland, an M.C.P. degree in Community Planning and and an M.S. degree in Computer Science from American University.
