Assistant Grants Compliance Officer
Samantha Tempchin is an Assistant Grants Compliance Officer in the Division of Grants Compliance and Oversight (DGCO), Office of Policy for Extramural Research (OPERA). As a member of DGCO, Samantha assists and educates grant administrators about Federal requirements and promotes compliance among the grantee community. Prior to starting at OPERA, Samantha was a Grants Management Specialist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. While at NIAID, she managed a diverse portfolio of grants and cooperative agreements, and served as grants management coordinator for several initiatives including NIAID’s MERIT program, the Collaborative Partnership to Advance Global Biomedical Research Programs, and the Antibacterial Resistance Leadership Group. She has led training workshops at NIAID Post‐Award Grant Administration Conferences and conducted proactive administrative site visits for international grant recipients in Europe and Asia. Previously, she worked in the Grants Management Branch of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. Samantha received her Bachelor’s degree in English from Tufts University and a Masters of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park.
