Dr. Stephanie L. Constant is the Chief of the Office of Scientific Review at the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). She oversees and coordinates the scientific and technical merit review of NIGMS research grants, cooperative agreements and training grant applications, many of which are focused on increasing diversity in the research workforce. Prior to joining NIGMS she was a Scientific Review Officer (SRO) at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI). Dr. Constant earned a B.S. in biology and a Ph.D. in immunology and parasitology, both from the University of York in the United Kingdom. She then conducted postdoctoral research at Yale University School of Medicine and was a tenured associate professor at The George Washington University before joining the NIH in 2011.
