Program Analyst, Public Access Support Center

Ms. Patricia Chappell-West, program analyst within the NIH Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA), is currently serving as a founding member of the NIH Public Access Support Center. Patricia oversees policy related to public access, grants administration, and provides direct support to program officers and principal investigators. Patricia joined the NIH in 2008 as an assistant director for the former OER Division of Extramural Activities Support. She moved to OD/OEPs Division of Loan Repayment (DLR) in 2012 as a program analyst. There she oversaw DLRs major activities for applicant servicing and its processes including oversight of the Information Center, application processing, data reporting, IC/Review Site support, and served as POC for the DLR/IC liaison for the NIH community. Prior to joining the NIH, Patricia began her professional career in the private sector where she worked as an assistant vice president/financial manager at Wachovia bank. She holds a MS in Organizational Leadership from Mercy College.
