00B: Half-Day eRA Workshop: Grant Application Preparation & Submission

Level

Beginner

Note: To participate in this session you must be registered for “Pre-Seminar Workshops” and the “2-Day Seminar”

What to Expect

Are you new to the NIH grant application process or overwhelmed by the logistics of submitting a grant application to NIH? Then this NIH eRA Workshop is for you.

We will guide the novice user through all the steps in the application submission process from preparing to apply to verifying your application has been successfully received at NIH. The session will focus on the process for submitting a standard research grant application (R01) and will point out key differences found with other programs. You’ll learn handy tips for avoiding common errors along the way.

Once you’ve learned the basics, we’ll walk you through the initiation, completion and submission of a sample application during a live demo of NIH’s Application Submission System and Interface for Submission Tracking (ASSIST) system.

Participants are encouraged to bring questions, share their experiences, learn from others, and expand their professional network.

This “how-to” workshop lays the perfect foundation for the NIH Regional Seminar on Program Funding and Grants Administration. During the two day seminar, you’ll have the opportunity to build on that foundation and learn more about the policies and regulations, or the “why’s”, behind the “how’s”.
