Health Science Policy Analyst

David A. Kosub, Ph.D. serves as a Health Science Policy Analyst within the NIH Office of Extramural Research. While in this position, he explains extramural grant policy-relevant issues and supports data driven decision making through a focus on legislative affairs, press and media relations, as well as public communications. Prior to this role, he served as a policy analyst in the NIH Office of Science Policy for two years and focused attention on issues related to NIH coordination with federal and non-governmental partners, evaluating trans-NIH policies, and other duties as assigned. Earlier, he spent seven years as a Public Health Analyst planning, reporting, and evaluating various activities relevant to the National Institute of allergy and Infectious Diseases. He earned his doctorate in Immunology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas studying the role of gamma/delta T cells during HIV/SIV infection.
