Rebecca Claycamp is the Chief Grants Management Officer in the Division of Extramural Activities for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), where she oversees grant administration activities for institute grants and cooperative agreements annually totaling over $1.4 billion. She came to the NIH in 2001, first serving as the Deputy Grants Management Officer for the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) before coming to the NIMH in 2003. Over the 19 years prior to joining the NIH, Ms. Claycamp served in both departmental and central research administration positions at the University of Kansas, the University of Iowa and the University of Pittsburgh. A frequent speaker at national meetings, she also was an inaugural recipient of the Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credential and of SRA’s Distinguished Faculty Award. Ms. Claycamp earned her bachelor’s degree in pure zoology from the University of Reading in England in 1976 and her master’s degree in biology from the University of Alabama in 1979.
