Grants Management Specialist

Rehana Chowdhury is a senior grants management specialist at NICHD. In this position, she is responsible for managing and coordinating a portfolio of complex grants. She is a certified Level III grants management officer. She has signature authority, and routinely releases competing and non-competing grants prepared by other specialists. Rehana is responsible for a portfolio of 135 to 150 grants, totaling approximately $70 million. Her portfolio of grants includes major NICHD programs such as CHRCDA, SBIR, and BRAD. She trains junior GMSs and review their work on Competing grant applications and Non-Competing progress reports, compliance with DHHS, NIH and NICHD regulations and policies, use of IMPAC II, budget spreadsheets, and other systems. She participates in different working groups and contribute in establishing NICHD SOPs.
Rehana has been at NICHD since 2008. She has over 27 years of experience within the NIH. Prior to NIH, she worked in banking and insurance. She likes to cook, travel, and volunteer for community services such as feeding at homeless shelters.
